Brigitte was right

THE EDITOR, Sir:BRIGITTE FOSTER was perfectly right in blaming the starter for her loss of a gold medal if Drummond was called for twitching, then the fairest thing the starter should have done was to call Brigitte also, for she, in fact, twitched just before the gun. I am quite certain that subconsciously she expected to be called and failure to do so cost her those vital fractions of a second consistency demanded that if Drummond was called, she should have been also. However, to Brigitte I say, be consoled, even the gold would not have been as sweet in the absence of Gail, but next year you will deal with all of them, and to all of our female athletes, I say, in the hearts of all Jamaica, you are all golden girls.
