Really disgusted
published: Tuesday | July 22, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM sick and tired of the Registrar General Department's (RGD) so-call efficient services. When you talk about inefficiency, put the RGD as the meaning.

I applied for a birth certificate for my daughter. The form that I got was no longer being used on my arrival at the registrar. I was told I needed a status form, after that, my hell began.

I got all the stuff needed, filled out the correct form, paid for it and it was sent off. When I got the new birth certificate, it had one name short; I made a query and got nothing out of it. I left it at that.

Then I needed by birth certificate for school because I was unable to locate mine. I went to the Half-Way Tree branch of the RGD, filled out the form, paid a search fee of $100 to find my number and paid $1,390 for the next-day service, after which I was told it would take one to three days, but I should call to see if it was there.

I called from Friday, June 19, to Wednesday, June 25, and up until now I have not received anything no call, no information, nothing at all.

I am, etc.,

TRACY-ANN SMITH
