Juniors ready to shine at CAJGC Champs
published: Sunday | June 29, 2003

DILLON ROWE, Qwayne Perry and Narada Black are just some of the juniors from the SuperClubs Golf Club in Runaway Bay who will be looking to make their mark at the 2003 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships (CAJGC) at the Royal Oasis Golf Resort in Bahamas from July 8-12.

The junior team was recently named by the Jamaica Golf Association's executive, following recommendations from the selection and junior golf committees.

Rowe, who finished first in the Boys 18 and Under section in the National Junior Trials, will be joined by Perry and Fabian Campbell from Constant Spring Golf Club.

Campbell will be making his first appearance for Jamaica on the team, while Rowe and Perry have represented the island before. The Boys 15 and Under grouping will see Black being partnered by Constant Spring's Matthew Lee and Dean Weatherly from the SuperClubs Ironshore Golf Club programme.

The selection of Weatherly arks the first time that a junior from Ironshore will represent the island at the Championships.

The Boys 12 and Under team will be represented by Jonathan Newnham and Lawrence Bailey, while last year's girls representatives in the section, Vittoria Marley and Shaneil McLeod, will again pair up for the competition.

Lindsey Chang and Shara Davis are the two members of the Girls 18 and Under team.

The top junior girl in the 18 and Under section from the National Trials, Tiffany Terrier, is still eligible for the Girls 15 and Under division and opted to compete in that section.

Terrier will be partnered by Nicola Dixon from SuperClubs Runaway Bay.

The team, managed by Larry Bailey and with Leiza Blakeley as assistant manager and chaperone, leaves the island on July 6.
