Sandals shares the Easter spirit
published: Tuesday | April 22, 2003

OVER THIRTEEN hundred students from St. Ann, St. Mary were feted royally for Easter recently courtesy of Sandals Ocho Rios.

The two schools involved, Exchange All-Age and Great Pond Basic Schools have both been adopted by the resort.

The students received bun and cheese and drinks while a few received special prizes. They were served by members of staff and the management team at the hotel.

"Each year at special times we try and ensure that our young people are made to feel special," noted general manager Michael Darby. "This year was no different and it was such a privilege to fete the kids, some of whose parents may not have the wherewithal to treat them for Easter."

Mr. Darby noted that the joy on the faces of particularly the students at the basic school was "priceless". Apart from the food, the children shared fellowship with the staff members, playing games and forging a greater bond.
