A call for transparency, accountability
published: Tuesday | April 22, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS IS an open letter to Councillor Ralph Anglin, Mayor of Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. I am pleased that some attention will be given to the very long vexed issue, the McNeilsland drainage. The Gleaner of April 3, 2003, stated that the Westmoreland Parish Council has been provided with an allocation of $1.8 million through the National Works Agency.

While the $1.8 million is good news, it is a moderate sum in relation to the profound need for comprehensive drainage. I humbly call on you Your Worship, to ensure that transparency, accountability and optimum production be realised. This would be an unforgettable tribute to the residents of McNeilsland and its environs.

I am, etc.,

FRANK L.R. MANBORDE

Councillor/Caretaker

Little London Division

Westmoreland
