Practice matches for Under-15s

Jamie Trenchfield... captain

THE YOUNG Jamaican cricketers continue their build-up for the West Indies Under-15 cricket championship, which begins on April 14 in St. Lucia, with two practice matches this weekend.

Tomorrow, the young Jamaicans will travel to Manchester High School to play a Manchester Select XI, while the following day they move on to St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) to play the hosts' Headley Cup team.

This match will also serve as practice for the school's upcoming WILCO/Sports Headley Cup final against Holmwood Technical.

The Jamaica Under-15 squad is: Jamie Trenchfield (captain), Ziggy Levy (vice captain), Zeniffe Fowler, Marlon Johnson, Obrian McKenzie, Nickoy Samuels, Marvin Lobban, Radcliffe Hall, Rashed Outar, Tavarie Green, Jamie Merchant, Christie Jones, Erron Downer and Richard Sitcheron. Manager Robert Lewis, coach Dennis Miller.

Meanwhile, two days before the players leave the island, a past Jamaica Under-15 XI with Xavier Marshall, Howard Powell and Krishmar Santokie, all of whom played on the West Indies winning team to the 2000 World Cup Under-15 championships, will test their skills in another practice match.

The past Jamaica Under-15 squad: Xavier Marshall, Howard Powell, Alton Beckford, Doran McLeod, Krishmar Santokie, Albert Gopie, Yanique Elliott, Oneil Wright, Steve Logan, Jefferey Scott, Andre McCarthy, Boris Hutchinson and Renardo Francis.
