By Rose Tavares-Finson, ContributorBRIAN ROSEN has been busy, if you don't see him behind a lens taking a photo of something unique and beautifully Jamaican, he's scouting on one of our sandy beaches looking for models to include in one of his future projects. His efforts are now being recorded by way of glossy, large attractive coffee table book that fit right in with Scavullo and Ritz.
Regardless of the mid-week holiday, last Thursday night did not keep the invited many away from the post Ash Wednesday book launch of Brian Rosen's "Women in the Caribbean-Shades of beauty". The evening started early as cars lined the photographer's domicile's road all ready to purchase this new coffee table must have.
Known for having a bevy of models, he did not disappoint. The house was decorated with scented candles everywhere and a driveway of votive lights made our way into his bar.
Brian Rosen, the charming men of men, greeted us and made the ladies feel like they are 25 all over again and the men like olé pals, all whilst making time to sign the many books being sold this night by his lovely daughter Jody Mair. She too lovely and fitting has been a model for Brian many a time.
Speeches were of course de rigeur and they too had the crowd in stitches as Whylie "Chunky" Lopez told the crowd he was the one responsible for Brian's first camera. Brian gave a fitting speech to thank the many people responsible.
There were Brian and Lisa Mat Pengally, Marie and Owen Harry, Pete Gaye Macmillan, Carole MacMillan, Gordon and Diane Arnold, Maurice and Sari Gabay, Michelle and Chris Bovelle, Lorraine and George DeMercado, David Rosen, Johnny Rosen.
