Alleged 'dealer' charged
published: Friday | February 7, 2003

CLARENDON:

A MAN who allegedly promised to supply cocaine to three men but delivered flour instead has been arrested and charged by the police for obtaining money by false pretence.

According to the May Pen police, the 26-year-old man who is from a Race Course address, took $100,000 from three men who are said to be from Kingston on January 24, promising them that he could supply them with the drug.

FLOUR

When the substance was delivered and the men returned to Kingston, they discovered that their supplier had given them flour instead of cocaine. They subsequently made a report to the May Pen police. The alleged drug supplier was reportedly pointed out to the police and was arrested and charged for the offence.

The police are however, withholding the name of the man as they say he is scheduled to face an identification parade in connection with other crimes he may have committed in the parish.
