Police support needed

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT IS with great remorse that we write to you with our concern at hand, which is the experience that we had on our recent visit (a most saddening and unforgetful one I must say) to Alexandria in St. Ann.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2002 our father Leonard Rose who is a grandfather and a great grandfather, was brutally murdered in his home in the district of Armadale in the Alexandria area.
I Leslie Rose (one of his sons) and other family members returned to Jamaica on December 1st, 2002 for preparation of his funeral.
We departed from Jamaica on December 15th, 2002 and to that date no arrest had been made, even though there is a strong possibility of a suspect to this crime who lives in the adjoining district of Cydsdale. The citizens in the area are very tense because they do not know who will be the next victim to die this way. Our father was an elderly, helpless senior citizen who was 90 years of age.
As Mr. Rose's immediate family, we got no support from the police, and this is very disturbing as we would very much like some assistance in getting the perpetrator punished for such a horrible act.
