...Another washed ashore in St Ann
published: Friday | January 3, 2003

RUNAWAY BAY, St. Ann:

THE BODY OF 38-year-old Carlton Senior of McKoy district, Aenon Town, Clarendon who had been missing since Monday, December 30, 2002 was found washed up a beach in the parish on New Year's Day.

Reports are that Senior was spending the day with friends in Runaway Bay. He went with them to Cardiff Hall Beach and was swimming when he got into difficulty and drowned. Onlookers, who watched helplessly, said they saw when a wave hit Senior off his feet. He was never seen again.

When The Gleaner caught up with Nicole Jarrett, one of the friends with whom he had gone swimming, she was in a very hysterical state. She reminisced on how he had called her to accompany him to ride the waves. She said she had refused the offer.

When found, Senior's body was badly mutilated. His back was bruised and he had wounds to his head and mouth. His body was washed ashore at Breezes Golf Hotel in Runaway Bay (next door to Cardiff Hall Beach).

The Runaway police are continuing their investigations.
