LED by vice captain Wavel Hinds, the Jamaican members on the West Indies team to the just concluded tour of India and Bangladesh arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport last night.

Accompanying Hinds were Marlon Samuels, Chris Gayle, Darren Powell, Ricardo Powell, Jermaine Lawson and team analyst Garfield Smith.

Hinds who was appointed vice captain to Ridley Jacobs on the Bangaldesh leg of the tour declined to comment on the issue of leadership of the regional side.

"I will not talk to anyone about any issues related to vice captain or captaincy," the West Indies opener said.

Turning to the team's overall performance Hinds said he thought they did well on their long tour of the sub-continent.

"Given the conditions and the composition of the team at that given time I think the guys really performed well. We will just have to move on from there and use this as a stepping stone for greater things to come in the future," Hinds said.

"It's always good to win away," Hinds said. "For the last couple of years we have not picked up good results on tour and this is a very good start for us. However, we cannot take away the fact that we lost the Test series in India, but that's behind us now.

"With the build up to the World Cup its nice to have victories under your belt, and we will use that as a stepping stone".

On his own performance, he said - "I was not satisfied with the amount of runs I scored, you are always looking to improve and build on your short comings, and I am no different, I will be trying to do that in my preparation."

Samuels said it was a wonderful performance for him, especially scoring his first Test and one-day international centuries.

"I will just try to move from strength to strength, but there is still a lot of room for improvement," Samuels said.

"It a really wonderful feeling to score a Test century, I always dreamt about that moment and I was happy when it arrived."

Samuels said a lot of things can be expected from him at next year's World Cup.

"That is where I am going to stamp my class," the middle order batsmen said.

Opener Gayle who was outstanding in the West Indies' 4-3 one-day series win over India said he will be trying to get some rest before he turns his attention to the World Cup.

"I did not get the runs I was hoping for in the Test series (Bangladesh), but I was happy to be among the runs in the one-day series," Gayle, who was named man-of-the series in India said.
