Businessman murdered

A 41-YEAR-OLD businessman was shot dead and his licensed firearm stolen by unknown assailant(s) at Fairmount district, Sheffield in Westmoreland on Monday night.

He has been identified as Elvis Whyte otherwise called "Sekie" of Rocky Hill in the parish.

Reports from the CCN's Westmoreland Liaison Officer are that 11:15 p.m., Mr. Whyte went to Sheffield to visit the mother of his child. On leaving several explosions were heard. On investigation Mr.Whyte was found beside his car suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and chest. He was taken to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Negril police who are investigating say the killer(s) stole Mr. Whyte's loaded Smith and Wesson pistol, serial #VJB8499. An additional magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, $76,000 and US$90 were found at the scene.
