No one is safe anywhere
published: Wednesday | November 27, 2002

THE EDITOR, Sir:

TO ALL the people who want to say goodbye to Jamaica, I say peace be with you all. I have been in the United States for the past 22 years and every year I go back to Jamaica. I do what I want against the advice of my family and friends because no one is safe anywhere. People are sitting in their living rooms and bedrooms here in America and bullets are coming through windows and killing them.

I am in the process of buying a home in Jamaica, because it is my home. If I never had the opportunity to leave, I would have to deal with what's going on there. Jamaica is mine. If ah come home an' live one month and dem kill mi, at least mi dead a mi yaad.

We must all mind each other's business when it comes to fighting crime. That's one way we can help.

I am etc.,
