Shameful conduct in Manchioneal

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT WAS with great consternation and disappointment that I listened to the news report earlier last week, regarding the cocaine find off the coast of Manchioneal in Portland. My joy at the police force's success was immediately overshadowed by Supt. James Forbes' report that the policemen were stoned by the residents of Manchioneal while going about their lawful duty, which presumably is for the good of all.

Have we really sunk this low? Is the thirst for the almighty dollar the only thing that matters? These residents are not only greedy, but incredibly stupid, because the drug trade brings nothing but death and destruction to all those involved in it, sooner or later.

Wake-up people, we have only one Jamaica and we need to preserve it for all of us to enjoy, and not allow it to be destroyed by drug pushers and addicts.

I am etc.,

DEEPLY CONCERNED
