EOJ firmly against malpractices

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT APPEARS that reference to certain constituencies who have polling stations that have garrison-like tendencies, and warning them that they are prime candidates for voiding, without also naming the constituencies commonly known as garrisons have upset a few persons. Let me assure all that any constituency that experiences electoral malpractice commonly found in garrisons will be highlighted, investigated and requested to be voided.

There was no intention to give the impression that those constituencies usually referred to as garrisons are exempt from voiding but rather to highlight constituencies that have polling stations that have garrison-like tendencies.

Rest assured also that we will be making public any and all electoral malpractices with no consideration as to who the information may or may not embarrass.

I am, etc.,

DANVILLE WALKER

Director of Elections
