Gonsalves - tacky shameless

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. GONSALVES outright urged Jamaicans to re-elect Mr. Patterson and Mr. Robert Pickersgill doesn't see that as "meddling?" Let me remind him that Mr. Gonsalves was at a public political campaign - not a formal state function, and as such his comments were designed to influence the Jamaican electorate.

Even if Mr. Gonsalves was at a state function such comments would still be seen as internal meddling. Since when does visiting head of government start telling us how to run our country and or who is fit to run our country?

This, Mr. Pickersgill, is unacceptable. It was tacky, shameless and a blatant disrespect to our sovereignty. We as Jamaicans should not tolerate it nor should we tolerate the PNP allowing this to happen, shame on the PNP administration for stooping so low.

I am etc.,
