Use your vote

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MANY PEOPLE continue to complain that political parties have failed us. Though that might be true, what I can't understand is how refusing to vote solves the problem. When we refuse to vote, it simply allows persons with nice smiles, sweet mouths, no intellect, no brains to be elected.

Let's start to change how we approach elections. This is how we hold politicians accountable. Just look at some of what is now being passed off has an election campaign and you will understand. We should remember that people have died in order for us to enjoy this right. Let's use it.

I am, etc.,
