SISTER SCULLY turned the Renaissance Jamaica Grande conference room into a church on Saturday night, when she had the audience dancing and clapping like it was a regular Sunday service during her 30-minute performance.

She was one of the performers on the event, billed 'The Total Package', put on by the Hoolebury Methodist Church.

Sister Scully, who graced the stage at 10:15 p.m., was greeted gleefully by the patrons, some of whom stood to welcome her.

She opened her set with A Hard Road To Travel, which had the medium-sized gathering on their feet as she paved the way for the Holy Spirit to enter the venue. Soon, the Old Harbour-based singer had the patrons clapping along with her medley of local praise and worship songs and very few people in the room could keep still as she reeled off popular choruses.

With the crowd now firmly in worship mode, Sister Scully slowed the tempo down by performing His Blood Was Precious Blood. The responses from the audience were somewhat different. Some remained on their feet and sang along, while others waved their hands in soulful reverence.

The gospel dynamo maintained the slow pace, performing Roll Back The Curtains, which she said was her favourite song. With the crowd's spiritual appetite almost satisfied, she ensured they were not left wanting when she performed her popular Hurry Up, before exiting.

The night's other performers also had a similar effect on patrons.

The talented and versatile Martin's Heritage drew shouts of approval from the audience with How Beautiful Heaven Must Be. With the crowd firmly in their corner, they did More Than An Ordinary Servant, forcing some patrons to rock to the heavy reggae rhythm.

Soon, they slowed things down with In The Eye Of The Storm. The sextet also gave them His Blood Will Carry Me and segued into The Blood That Gives Me Strength before exiting.

Carlene Davis also ensured that the audience went home in a 'praise mode' by performing several of her popular songs. She had them clapping and dancing with her praise and worship medley with This Island Needs Jesus and Wish I Knew Then, which went down well with the patrons.

The Advent Heralds, with their country and western sound, drew applause on a regular basis, as their songs were well received.

The other acts who performed on the evening were Heavenly Echoes, Uni-B and the Maranatha Singers.
