McFarlaneNATIONAL COMMERCIAL Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) yesterday confirmed that the deputy chairman of its board of directors, Dunbar McFarlane, is leaving the bank.
A statement from the office of Christopher Lowe, the bank's managing director, said Mr. McFarlane yesterday "confirmed his decision to leave the service" of NCB with effect on July 30 this year. It said Mr. Mc-Farlane will be on vacation through to that date.
"The board, management and staff of National Commercial Bank extend to Mr. Mc-Farlane thanks for his contribution to NCB and sincere good wishes in all his future endeavours," the statement said.
The announcement came after The Gleaner and other media reported yesterday that Mr. McFarlane's departure from the institution was imminent. Mr. McFarlane's career with NCB has spanned 37 years, culminating in his role as deputy chairman, after previously serving as its group managing director.
Mr. McFarlane's decision to leave follows the reorganisation of NCB in December 2000 and subsequent divestment in March 2002 of its majority shareholding from the state agency FINSAC to the Canadian-based AIC Limited, the NCB statement said.
