WESTERN BUREAU:
FOUR OF the five teams in the bottom half of the National Premier League's point's standings will have a chance to make some space between themselves and the relegation zone when they meet in two games in Western Jamaica this afternoon. The two third round games will see Village taking on Waterhouse in a Zone A game at the Elleston-Wakeland Community Centre at 3:30 p.m. while Reno will host Wadadah in a Zone B game at Frome starting at 6:00pm.
Two points separate all four teams with Duhaney Park well behind in last place on nine points. Wadadah are in sixth place on 25 points while the other three are tied on 23 points with Village in seventh place followed by Waterhouse, then Reno.
Of the four, the odds will favour Village, who will be home for the first time this round, to take three points after losing and drawing their previous games.
Coach Geoffrey Maxwell, who took over the Trelawny team in late January, has seen marked improvement in their overall play but has lamented the absence of a goal scorer to put away the chances they have created.
Village have scored just 22 goals in 20 games played and rank well below the top five teams in the league.
At Frome, Wadadah will be hoping to win their second in a row since the first round and will be out to repeat the 2-1 win they scored over the Westmoreland club when the clubs last met in early February.
