Seaga and the tax burden

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR SEAGA'S fantasies about building houses for poor and middle-class Jamaicans, would sound wild under most conditions. But this is even more unrealistic with the world economies on the verge of collapsing.

The Jamaican people do not need more pipedreams, they only want honesty in their government and they will do the rest. Our government has for too long been a hindrance than a help. If Mr Seaga wants to help the people of Jamaica he should find a way to reduce the tax burden on the poor and middle-class, and they will do the rest.

I am etc.,
