Crucial Manning matches today

Karet Hosang (Charlie Smith).

THE semi-final line-ups for the Pepsi/Sports Plus Manning will be decided this afternoon after the playing of five rescheduled matches.

Bridgeport tackle Charlie Smith at Constant Spring at 3:30 p.m. the same venue for the Norman Manley-Jonathan Grant game which is set to kick off at 1:30.

In another double header at Ferdie Neita Park, Kingston College play Jamaica College at 1:30 p.m. while Camperdown and Wolmer's square off at 3:30.

The fifth match sees Spanish Town against Holy Trinity in a Group B contest at Campion College at 3:30.

Group A winners Jonathan Grant are a safe bet for a semifinal spot having won both their quarter-final games. A win or draw will cement a place in this weekend's semi-finals.

New champions will be crowned this year with Norman Manley out of the hunt. After an impressive run in the preliminary round, the best they could pull off in the quarterfinals was a 1-1 draw with Kingston College.

Jamaica College, with a zero goal difference, have little hope of advancing. Only a very big win can give them an outside chance of advancing as the best runner-up team.

Kingston College, like Norman Manley cannot advance but will no doubt provide good competition against Jamaica College.

Bridgeport have the advantage of a big goal difference when they take the field against the high-riding Charlie Smith team.

Both have six points after Charlie Smith's 4-0 blanking of Tivoli and Bridgeport's 10-1 spanking of Waterford.

The Spanish Town-Holy Trinity match will prove to be interesting. Despite late preparations "Trinity" have proved their surprisingly good run was not a fluke.
