I NOTICED in today's Gleaner (October 26) a reader commending the RGD, unfortunately I cannot add to the accolades. I applied for my niece's birth certificate and paid for seven days service on July 25, 2001 (Receipt #231029).
I asked on my second visit to the St. Catherine office that the document be sent to Mandeville as I would be off the island and a bearer would collect it. Up to the time of writing, after several telephone calls and useless promises the child is still without her birth certificate.
