An early election

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Corporate Jamaica and civil society should try their endeavour best in the country's interest to persuade the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister to put the necessary mechanism in place for an early election.

If good sense prevails and a long drawn out campaign is averted, our country could be spared up to twelve months of possible mayhem and the wanton loss of innocent lives.

Editor Sir, despite efforts by the police and various other groupings including the church to ease the political tensions between volatile communities, crime and violence continue unabated.

Let's preserve our national pride instead of having it being tarnished beyond recovery.

I am, etc.,

MILTON CAMPBELL
