Happy to see people willing to forgive THE EDITOR, Sir: THERE ARE many people today in the world that have been hurt in one way or the other, and this causes a lot of ill-feelings among people, even towards others who have nothing to do with their hurt. Just recently, a little child was found dead in bushes, and was in the nude with stab wounds. What sorrow that mother must have felt, what pain, what grief! But I can recall her saying on the television, that the person or persons who have done such a thing to her daughter need to repent. This might sound trivial to many; but these are powerful words to be coming out a mouth of a hurting mother in the time of pain, grief and anguish. I am glad that people are now realising that even when they are in their darkest hour, they can hold fast unto the word of God, for God is the only one who can work out all things for good to them that love Him and who are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). I want this mother to know that she has been prayed for, so she must hold fast to the word of God. I just saw a programme on the television of a woman whose 11-year-old daughter was killed by a woman who was driving under the influence of alcohol. The child's mother expressed the great grief she went through. But through the help of God, she was able to write a letter to the woman of how she has forgiven her and wants the best for her. This letter has caused the woman to see love, and she was drawn to Christ. God's word to us is that we should love one another for God is love (1 John 4: 7-11). Praise be to God. Amen. I am, etc., SONIA FAY BUCKLAND Kingston 8
