Weeping for America

THE EDITOR, SIR:

NOW we all realize how small the world really is and that we are our brother's keeper.

All over the world we collectively weep for America in her anguish - America's anguish is our anguish and now is brought home fully the fact that America contains the micocrosm of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. America contains the nationals of all the areas listed.

In all America's pain I sincerely hope that each person in that great country will say to themselves now we know what Iraq, Panama, Afganistan felt when they were bombed.

It is true that those nations were punished for wrongs done by members of their population but not all the inhabitants were guilty.

Maybe when America reflects on this fact all its citizens will realise what care must be taken to weed out the guilty individuals and not to allow the innocent to suffer.

In all countries there are Timothy McVeighs and each country must try and find these Timothy McVeighs before they reach the stage that he reached when he bombed Oklahoma City.

These persons I feel sure start out by wanting to right the wrongs and we as a society must look out for these individuals and to try and help them to really right the wrongs.

So please America, although you are hurting please, please try and think carefully before you reach the persons who did this dastardly act.

Do not be like them and commit an even worse act. The entire world is now with you and want to find the culprits, so hold strain until you find the guilty ones and the country who even thinks of protecting the guilty ones will know that they will have to answer to every person in each country as we will not condone this type of brutality.

In the meantime, you are constantly in our prayers and we are asking the Master to be with you throughout this very difficult period in your history.

I am, etc
