On 'burning' gays

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IMAGINE, IF you will, if we took the words from TOK's Chi Chi Man song literally and we "fire bunned" the gay community. Jamaica would be a floating inferno.

Just when things are really 'hotting' up the fire units would arrive, void of water, and the National Water Commission would announce a water lock-off.

Hopefully, it would be the rainy season and the clouds would send a downpour to extinguish the fierce blaze.

Question: What would we find amongst the smoking embers?

Answer: The burnt and charred remains of our doctors, shopkeepers, lawyers, higglers, teachers, nurses, entertainers, police, journalists, politicians, celebrities, soldiers, students, sports men and women, farmers, clergymen, blah, blah, blah.

Oh, and don't forget members of the Boy Scout movement.

All respectable members of society working and contributing to make Jamaica a better place. Imagine!

I am, etc.,

M. HENRY

Red Hills,

St. Andrew
