THE SECOND round of the Jamaica National/Jamaica Football Federation Cup knockout will be highlighted by the entrance of two National Premier League teams today.Wadadah, who are currently second from bottom in the NPL, take on St. James parish champions Catherine Hall at Herbert Morrison while Olympic Gardens will go up against Maverley/Hughenden at Cling Cling Oval.
Catherine Hall accounted for A League team Mile Gully in the first round and are another prized scalp. Maverley conquered Lewis Strikers in their first-round game and are up against significantly tougher opposition today.
While the A League and NPL teams will be favoured to advance, sides such as Raiders, Tafari Lions and Bull Bay cannot be ruled out. In the last round all three scored upsets and would want to continue in a similar vein.
Of the three, Tafari Lions and Bull Bay have home advantage over Brazil and Village respectively. Village could also face the disadvantage of playing without key players Shane Crawford and Fabian Dawkins. Dawkins is due to leave with the Under-20 team for Canada while Crawford is in training with the national team.
