Gleaner launches online placement service

TODAY the Gleaner launches an online service that allows its customers to place advertisements in its papers and on Go-Jamaica using credit cards.

The service can be found on www.gleanerclassifieds.com. This Web-based innovation will combine old-fashioned customer attention while utilising Internet access to accommodate customers requiring instantaneous service.

Customers using the online service can now place classified advertisements in both overseas and local editions of The Gleaner and The Star.

All credit card transactions are conducted via a secure server and may occur in Jamaican or United States currency.

Manager for customer services at The Gleaner Company's Kingston offices, Janet DeLisser said : "The Gleaner Company recognises that advances in technology are changing the way we conduct business. By offering a Web-to-print ad placement service, we are hoping to make life a bit easier for busy people who may not have the time to go to a Gleaner Company outlet."

Gleaner Classifieds puts a new face on Go-Jamaica's online classifieds as well. The new interface was designed by a Mandeville based IT development company called KD SAX. The interface provides improved search and advertising categories that make it easier to pinpoint advertisements quickly.
