Two good initiatives

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I WOULD like to commend your paper on two initiatives that have caught my interest. One is the "What's good about Jamaica" series. For those of us who sometimes stay away from the evening news because so much of it is devoted to crime, murder and things that don't uplift us (why don't good things make news!!!) it is very instructive, and a relief, to read about positive people doing positive things with their lives. Why not make it a permanent feature?

The other initiative is the Flair Magazine of January 8. Although designed to enrich the life experience of your female readership, a good empowering idea for women may, generally speaking, be just as good for men. This issue, may well turn out to be the catalyst to start many other interesting missions.

I am, etc.,

LLOYD A. VERMONT
