A wish for Christmas

Paul Collins, Contributor

IFyou had a wish this Christmas

whatever would it be?

So many things to choose from

the choice is hard you see.

Would you wish for money,

and buy a private jet?

'Fly go a farin'

To places you ain't been yet?

Would you wish for jewellery

or the latest trends?

'Bling bling bout de place,'

and show off to your friends?

Would you wish for cars,

Ferrari or deportee?

Which one would get heads turning?

No contest there I see.

Wish for endless food supplies

and have your fridge bawl out?

'Mi caan tek no more blasted food

hol it in fi yuh mout'

But think!

How 'bout an end to poverty?

Where everyone lives good.

Good clothes and shoes to go around

Living like we should.

How bout an end to war

and fighting all around?

No guns, no daggers, no 'half a lass,'

or midnight gunshot sound.

Wish for protection for those weaker

and have God hear their case

Take away anxiety

and with a smile replace?

How 'bout God's blessings for all your life?

Does that appeal to you?

To guide, protect and lead your soul

and show you ways so true.

I know what I'd wish this Christmas.

For four of the above

and with this rhyme I take the time

to spread to you Christmas love.
