PULSE International models dressed down in tight denims and tank tops, little make-up and simple hairdos, to help Kingsley Cooper, chief executive officer of Pulse Model Management, launch the company's 2001 Models Diary and to commemorate the agency's 21st anniversary.
The group gathered upstairs Pulse's Trafalgar Road entertainment centre, in a small room with stacks of diaries on tables to be issued to guests.
After cocktails, Mr. Cooper addressed the group.
He highlighted the achievements of the models over the years, naming Lois Samuels, Althea Laing, Kimberley Mais, Nicki Vassell and Romae Gordon as some of the most successful models that Pulse has seen. He described the models present as a representation of 21 years of the company's success and said his organisation was currently working on a project to catapult Pulse into a more Caribbean-oriented entity. In addition, shows such as Caribbean Fashion Week 2001 and Male Face of the Millennium are expected to bring more exposure to Caribbean talents.
"Caribbean Fashion Week 2001 will bring the most accomplished designers of the region, government agencies who support the apparel industry and buyers from North America and Europe to the region," Mr. Cooper said. He added that the event would be launched in several places, each accompanied by a mini fashion collection.
