A SPLENDID first half performance by Premier League champions Harbour View carried them to a 4-1 drubbing of Arnett Gardens in the Premier League game at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.
Daniel Shaw scored twice (third and 24th minutes) and Fabian Taylor (17th) and Jermaine Hue (38th) netted as the champions bounced back admirably from their shock 1-3 loss to newly promoted Constant Spring last week.
"We played a great first half today," said Harbour View's coach Peter Cargill.
"For the first 45 minutes, it was the best we have played since the season. "
Unhappy with the big loss, Jerome Waite, coach Arnett Gardens, said his team was not mentally prepared for the tough encounter.
In only the third minute of play Harbour View rushed into the lead and promptly took charge of the game.
A cross from the right by Jermaine Hue was miscontrolled by Taylor but ran through to Shaw who hit past Arnett's goalkeeper Selvin Collins.
Another rightsided cross fourteen minutes later, this time by the overlapping defender Clifton Waugh, found the unmarked Taylor for him to fire powerfully past Collins.
Arnett which looked vulnerable to crosses from the right side throughout the first half, conceded yet another goal created from the right to be down 3-0 in only 24 minutes of play. Mark Miller's cross found Shaw on the inside the box for him to hit one-time past Collins.
Seven minutes before the end of the first half, Harbour made it 4-0 with a good goal from Hue.
Fabian Davis' attempted clearing header fell for Robert Scarlett who played to Hue in midfield. The Harbour View captain dribbled forward and then struck a powerful left footer that curled into the lefthand corner of the goal.
