A happy duo

ANDREW and Andre McLoren of Lincoln Road in Brown's Town, St. Ann, turned six years old on Wednesday and like many boys of that age the twins are very active.

THE STAR visited their home in August and the boys could hardly stay still long enough to get their picture taken.

"They are always active although Andrew is a little more reserved than Andre," mother Sharon McLoren revealed.

Mrs. McLoren said that she manages to handle the children with the help of God and a few relatives.

"They are a parents' dream and everything rolled up in one. Andre is very talkative and loves books. I have to read him at least three books and he is always asking questions," she said.

While this conversation was in progress, the McLoren boys slipped outside and began playing with some other children in the yard. Smiling she motioned to us to look at the boys play.

They played very aggressively and none would give quarter to the other.

"They always play like that...always showing their strength," she said.

Mrs. McLoren described Andrew as being very observant and shy around strangers.

"You really won't know what is on his mind," she added.

The boys look exactly alike. The only obvious difference is that Andrew has a mole on his left cheek while Andre has one on his right cheek. What is fascinating is that when they are standing face to face it is like they are looking in a mirror.

Mrs. McLoren said that when she was pregnant she did not believe that she would have twins. She said that twins did not run in the family and she did not think she would be the first to have a pair.

"When friends saw how large I was they said that I may be carrying twins," she said.

But she dismissed the thought. It was only after she visited her doctor that she was convinced that she was carrying twins.

She said that she worried at first but, Neville, the boys' father was very supportive during the pregnancy.
