Insane protest in Sydney

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Regardless of what cause they represent, this demonstration of our athletes at the Olympics is incomprehensible and insane. I hope disciplinary action is taken against them.

As for those who would like to defect to another track team, let them do so. To begin with, the times that they have posted in the Jamaica Trials, would not have guaranteed them a place on the USA's track team. So they wouldn't have an Olympics experience.

Some of them have just burned their careers. We don't air our dirty laundry in public, have they forgotten that.

Go Ottey, and who don't like it, take the next flight home from Sydney. Planes leave every day.

I am etc.,
