THE EDITOR, Sir:

AT NO time will Jamaicans like myself forget that Olympian Veronica Campbell-Brown was the one who started the streak of wins for Jamaica. So, in response to Veronica's family's fear, we will never turn on VCB.

What must be stated is that Jamaica not only possess one sprint darling; we now possess a variety and we should be proud of that fact.

In the early days of track and field, we were always in a race for silver either between Juliet Cuthbert or Merlene Ottey. Now I can call my friends and family overseas and boast that Jamaican athletes are the greatest of all times.

So, thanks to the families of all our athletes. Out of many we are one champion.
