Chairman of the People's National Party (PNP), Robert Pickersgill, sent a terse warning to Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Deputy Leader Derrick Smith yesterday, saying he should keep out of the party's business and focus on the numerous challenges currently plaguing the nation.
Pickersgill's message comes just a day after Smith commented on episodes of infighting and disunity in the Opposition. Smith further sent subtle hints that the ruling party might seek to capitalise on the strife currently racking the PNP.
In an email to The Gleaner yesterday, the PNP chairman suggested that the JLP should mind its own business.
Solve country's problems
"With all the problems affecting the country and the many failings and broken promises of this administration, the JLP should be focused on trying to solve the myriad of challenges confronting us instead of interfering in the internal runnings of the PNP," he said.
Pickersgill added: "The party is currently filling vacancies at both the constituency and parish council divisional levels, as well as developing its Progressive Agenda to provide effective and sustainable solutions to the nation's prevailing difficulties."
He said the PNP would be ready for any eventualities that may arise.
