Rhys Campbell
Management switch at Carreras
Rhys Campbell, who holds the title corporate and regulatory affairs manager at cigarette distributor Carreras Limited is being seconded to Carisma Marketing Services Limited in Trinidad.
Both Carreras and Carisma are majority owned by British American Tobacco of the United Kingdom.
Campbell will assume the position of Corporate and regulatory affairs manager at Carisma "with responsibility for managing the company`s reputation and regulatory portfolios" across 24 markets in the English, French and Dutch Caribbean, said Carreras in a stock market filing.
The Jamaican company said it would be recruiting a replacement for Campbell.
Pragnell joins Pan Jam, FJI boards
First Jamaica Investments Limited (FJI) and its parent Pan Jamaican Investment Trust Limited have advised that Thomas Pragnell has been appointed as a director of both boards, and as a member of the audit committees, effective May 15.
Pan Jam, a conglomerate largely in the business of property development and management, owns more than 70 per cent of First Jamaica. Both companies are controlled by the Facey family.
Sharp replaces Levy at IAJ

Jacqueline Sharp is the new president of the Insurance Association of Jamaica (IAJ).
Sharp who is presently the vice-resident and general manager of Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company replaced Andrew Levy who served as president for the last two years from 2007 to 2009.
Levy is general manager of Jamaica International Insurance Company owned by conglomerate GraceKennedy Limited.
IAJ is the trade association for 16 life/health and general insurance companies in Jamaica.
Sharp held the post of vice-president, prior to her election at the April annual general meeting.
She joined the Scotiabank family in 1997 working in several capacities, including treasury, finance and private banking.
Freddie heads reggae board

The music fraternity has chosen, from among their numbers and others in the artistic community, representatives on the newly formed Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JARIA).
Frederick 'Freddie' McGregor was elected chair, besting rival Patrick 'Tony Rebel' Barrett.
The rest of the board are: vice-chair Howard McIntosh; company secretary Jacqueline Lynch-Stewart, who is also chair of the subcommittee on 'constitution, advocacy, lobby and member-ship'; producer representative Stephen Stewart; musician representative, Michael 'Ibo' Cooper; artist representative, Ventrice 'Queen Ifrica' Morgan; and youth representative, Joan Webley.
Other representatives selected were floor member Jerome Hamilton; Seretse Small, education and training; reggae month planner Charles Campbell; Donovan Germain, finance, and Carlette Deleon, marketing.
JARIA was formed in February to lobby on behalf of members, and the fraternity. Membership was reported in April at 109 individuals.
First Financial appoints new directors
Ken Osbourne, an insurance specialist based in the Cayman Islands, and businessman Peter Campbell have joined the board of First Financial International Group (FFIG), the company announced Wednesday.
FFIG was founded in 1996 by Jamaican Delroy Howell, the company's chairman and CEO, with businesses now spanning the financial, health and insurance sectors in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, The Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
FFIG is noted as a company in the business of remittances, but here in Jamaica, Howell's most well-known investment is the Hilton Kingston hotel, which he acquired more than a year ago.
Other FFIG board members are Dr Joseph Marzouca, Kenarthur Mitchell, Edward Balderamos, Garston Grant, and attorney-at-law Clyde Allen.
