On Thursday, Minister of Labour and Social Security Pearnel Charles launched his book, Jamaica and the People's Struggle for Survival.
He gave the audience a taste of the contents of his fifth and final book, that he's now working on. It will be about his life as a country boy, his friends, siblings, colleagues and his father.
So hilarious were the anecdotes that MC Professor Brian Meeks added 'stand-up comic' to Charles' list of credits. We have snapshots of the event.
There were calls from Professor Meeks and Paymaster's Audrey Marks for guest speaker Prime Minister Bruce Golding to write a book. Meeks said, compared to the People's National Party, there was not enough in print about the work, successes and failures of the Jamaica Labour Party.
