THE SUITE at the Knutsford Court hotel became a gallery last Friday, as Jamaicans For Justice (JFJ) hosted its annual dinner and art auction.
The works of art, some reaching prices of over $100,000, were all from some of Jamaica's finest painters and sculptors. But there were two specially donated works from Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Father Richard Ho Lung from Missionaries of the Poor.
It was all for a great cause - funding the JFJ's various initiatives in trying to create a better, peaceful society for all who reside on Jamrock.
Musical duo Warm 'N' Easy provided the cocktail entertainment before auctioneer supreme, William Tavares-Finson, got guests to dig into their pockets for the valuable pieces.
Despite the fun, however, the group's work was not forgotten, as Dr Carolyn Gomes reiterated the group's concern over newly proposed anti-crime policies.
Guests out included British High Commissioner Jeremy Cresswell and companion, Dr Barbara Munske; Marcel and Alexandra Consten from the German Embassy; David Wong-Ken, Bob Fowler and wife Angie; Peter John Thwaites; Anne-Marie Feanny; Tarun Handa; Lisa Lakhan-Chen; Donovan Perkins and wife Michelle; Patrick and Marguerite Lynch andDeborah Garry.
