Bank on Littlerichboy

MISS ROSE, ridden by the improving apprentice Delroy Beharie, sprints clear of rivals to win the Track Price Plus Trophy over 1400 metres by three lengths at Caymanas Park last Saturday. Offering odds of 5-2, MISS ROSE is owned by Clinton Rhoden and trained by Lawrence Freemantle. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance Photographer

Tomorrow's 11-race programme at Caymanas Park boasts a whopping Pick-9 carryover of $6.8 million and this could well ensure an enormous payout if caught.

With heavy betting anticipated, as the big spenders now turn their attention to the mushrooming jackpot, a prize of $9 million looks a real possibility.

The Pick-9 embraces race three to 11 on the well-supported programme, while the Super-6 which starts anew with the guaranteed minimum of $500,000, will be conducted from race five to 11.

We look at the Super-6 which kicks with a mile and quarter race for maiden three-year-olds to be contested by 10 starters, including top contenders LITTLERICHBOY under champion jockey Omar Walker, IMAGE DANCER and the lightly raced MARKET TRAIN.

Steal a march

The winner will more than likely emerge from this trio, with the free-running IMAGE DANCER attempting to steal a march after finishing a close third MR. THEOPHILUS over 1100 metres last Saturday, MARKET TRAIN expected to step up considerably on that fair effort behind I AM I AM on his recent debut and LITTLERICHBOY most likely to outstay the field.

The choice has to be the Gregory Bucknor-trained LITTLERICHBOY on the strength of his close second to LOVINGGOOD over 1700 metres on March 15. The brown colt by Alisios out of the 1991 Derby and Superstakes winner Poorlittlerichgirl reports in good nick and should prove hard to deny in a race of this nature.

The sixth race for maiden 4-y-o and up provides the late kicking EL DIABLO with a grand opportunity to deliver at last.

Race No. 7 for the Legal Light Trophy (graded stakes) over the circular nine course has attracted only six starters, but indications are it will resolve itself into a straight fight between the prove class horses, the 2007 Superstakes hero MAJOR MAYER and recent Zaleucus Trophy winner ALLIEDFORCE.

Lasix administered

DULCIMENA, now administered Lasix for the first time, should come into her own and win the eighth race over the straight ahead of speedy TOKEN and recent winner VALID FARE, while BRITISH LA GENERAL gets the ideal trip (1500 metres) in the ninth race and should win from YAMASHITA'S GOLD and ANDIAMO. And down-in-class EXPLOSIVE PEAK (working well) from the Peter McMaster stables should lead home DOUBLE BOW and the lightly raced American 3-y-o filly SMOOTHABILITY in the 10th race over the straight for the Howard Hamilton Trophy, this in honour of the 2007 champion owner.
