Adams' new album is only at Wal-Mart
published: Friday | April 11, 2008

Bangshowbiz:

Bryan Adams will release his new album in the United States (US) exclusively with retail giant Wal-Mart.

The Canadian star's LP 11 will go on sale on May 13 in American chains of the discount department store and its affiliated Sam's Club outlets.

The record, Adams' 11th studio album, has already been released globally through record label Universal, topping the charts in Canada and reaching number six in the United Kingdom.

Hoping for redemption

The rocker is hoping the deal will help the record outsell his last album, 2004's Room Service, which shifted just 44,000 copies in the US. Adams, 48, who is currently touring South Africa, is set to play a series of acoustic shows in the US in May.

He is not the first star to team up with a major retailer to release his music. In 2005, Alanis Morissette granted coffee chain Starbucks exclusive rights to sell her album Jagged Little Pill - Acoustic for the first six weeks of its release in the US and Canada.
