WESTERN BUREAU:
After a blissful year, the extremely happy chairman of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) observed a week of luncheons and dinner parties, celebrating his first wedding anniversary, 70th birthday and wife Odette's years on earth.
But Montego Bay's resident lovebirds knew the week had to climax at some point.
The venue was Wine With Me on Gloucester Avenue for the ultimate occasion.
Surrounded by 34 close friends, in a spine-tingling yet hilarious tribute, Dyer received a clean bill of health from his pal and medical doctor, Soe Naung, who said, "Outside of hearing impairment, GG (as he is affectionately called) is in top class."
In stitches
Soe Naung's declaration had the gathering in stitches and throughout the evening, a host of tributes were given, including impromptu renditions from Wine With Me stewardess Yolanda Haughton, banker Andrea Lyle, and others.
Dyer, in his response, thanked the closely knit group for its unconditional support, while confessing that he dearly loved his wife: "If I had to do it all over again, I would never want to do it with any other woman. I would never want to spend the rest of my life with anyone other than Odette."
Friends George Thomas, Robert and Beverly Russell, Joan and Clive Lee, Sam and Yvonne James, Metty Scarlett Jones, Michael Hicks, Vandyke McKenzie, Indru Dadlani, Dr Twhe, Dr John Gordon and wife Iwona, Cheryl Atkinson, Lynn and George Holloway, Karen Neita and Dr Greg Thomas, doctors Alex and Lina Manolina and Andy and Michelle Daswani were among the group.
