Open Bible churches start 59th conference

Rev Dr Stevenson Samuels will be the main Bible study speaker at this year's 59th annual conference and convention of the Church of the Open Bible.

The 59th annual conference and convention of the Open Bible Standard Churches of Jamaica started yesterday at its National Complex in Twickenham Park, St Catherine.

Under the theme 'Living in Love', the conference segment will end today, and convention activities will get on the way tomorrow.Rev Don Hamilton, minister of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, will be the main speaker with the Rev Dr Stevenson Samuels, secretary/treasurer of the New Testament Church of God, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, leading the Bible study segments.

The convention is taking place under the leadership of Dr Alston Henry, general superintendent of the Open Bible Standard Churches of Jamaica. This year's convention will climax with an ordination and communion service at the National Arena in St Andrew on Sunday, March 16, starting at 8:00 a.m. Members of the public are invited.

The following are daily themes for this year's convention:

Wednesday: The Pre-eminence of Love

Thursday: The Power of Love Friday: The Practice of Love Saturday: The Permanence of Love

Sunday: The Profit of Love.

Dr Henry is this year promising members of the church and the public inspirational singing and dynamic preaching.
