ARNETT GARDENS and Tivoli Gardens B registered their four consecutive victories in the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League at Leila Robinson Courts yesterday.

Arnett Gardens thrashed East Central 47-7, while Tivoli Gardens B stopped Skibo C 26-16.

Stroll past opponents

In other games, Speg edged Up Park Camp 33-30 and Waulgrovians B whipped Millennium Strikers 35-8.

Arnett Gardens, led by goal shooter Shelly-Ann Williams' 21 goals from 27 attempts, dominated the first period and raced to a 25-3 lead at half-time.

The red-and-black-clad Jungle-based team then strolled past their opponents during the second half by outscoring them 22-4.

Williams received solid support from Trudith Reid, 16 goals from 18 tries, and Kadian Mendez, 10 goals from 12 attempts.

Keisha Barrett (four goals from eight tries) and Kenesha Stephens (three from four) scored the goals for East Central.

Good victory

Malford Turner, assistant coach of Arnett Gardens, said he was pleased with the team's performance.

"This victory was good for us today because we stuck to our game plan and it paid off," said Turner."We have Police in our next game on Saturday and we want to make sure that we keep this focus in all areas because our aim is to be in the semi-finals."

Dave Brown, coach of East Central said: "My players didn't stick to the game plan. They also need to train much harder so that they can be much better in the divisional league. This was a very hard game for us today but they did what they could do and even though we lost I think we put up a good fight," Brown explained.
