Our society is in trouble
published: Wednesday | November 28, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I write regarding the prepos-terous article in The Sunday Gleaner of November 18, about chastity belts for Jamaican women.

Do we live in such a hypro-critical society that we fail to see that the problem lies not with the women but with the men? How much longer are we going to deny and not address the fact that Jamaican men are sick and need help?

There is a fundamental problem in this society and it is not being addressed. Jamaican men are sick - they need help.

They have no idea or concept on how to be an upstanding human being or just a person for that matter. T

They think only with their scrotum and walk around with it in their hands. It is a real shame that we Jamaican women are subjected to continuous sexual harassment at all levelsof life

I am, etc.,
