Too sensitive for politics?
published: Wednesday | November 28, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am truly troubled by the position Portia Simpson Miller had taken in light of the remarks Bruce Golding recently made about "termites eating their brains". This is most unfortunate, since Mrs Simpson has been in politics for approximately 30 or more years.

I must be naive, but I was under the assumption that politics is hostile territory. Obviously, it's not for the weak nor the overly sensitive.

I am neither PNP or JLP, which would have been a conflict of interest, since my loyalty is for the best interest of Jamaica.

Therefore, it's never about your party or your party affiliates. Indeed, you would be guilty of aiding and abetting cronyism and nepotism.

Mismanagement

Mrs. Simpson Miller, it would be unreasonable to pin all 18 years of woes on you alone.

However, there have been gross mismanagement and improprieties which unleashed scandal after scandal. Sister P. where were you? Mistake - you have no idea who your Cabinet comrades really are. They are polished veterans, highly sophisticated.

It's irrefutable and also indisputable that Jamaicans are some of the brightest and most ambitious people in the world.

Therefore, with all our present complex problems we face as a country, none is more damaging than mismanagement.

Such action has infinite impact on our society, since it robbed us socially, judicially, educationally and economically.

I am, etc.,
