Public bodies to face DPP
published: Wednesday | November 28, 2007

The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) yesterday reported seven public bodies to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for failing to comply with the lawful requisition of the Contractor General.

The delinquent public entities are the College of Agriculture, Science and Education; G.C. Foster College, a repeat offender; Golden Age Home, Hanover Parish Council; Ministry of National Security; National Environment and Planning Agency, and the National Road Operating and Constructing Company.

In a statement yesterday, the OCG said the government agencies failed to submit their 2007 third-quarter Quarterly Contract Awards reports to the OCG, on or before the October 31 deadline.

The OCG said since the introduction of its zero-tolerance policy, compliance rate has increased from 13 per cent to 96 per cent.
