Top Jamaican women in sports will showcase their musical skills on Saturday, December 1 when they 'Spin for Charity' as part of an inaugural event put on by the newly-formed Jamaica Women in Sport Society (JWISS) at the Deck in St. Andrew.

Juliet Cuthbert (track and field), Oberon Pitterson (netball and basketball), Myrtle Weir (hockey), Millicent Lynch (marketing, horse racing), Patricia Garel (football and volleyball) and Jackie Walter (swimming) are confirmed deejays for the event.

Headlining the list of deejays will be former volleyball president, Carole Beckford along with special guest and well-known tourism writer, Janet Silvera. Dorraine Samuels-Binger will co-host the event.

'Spin for Charity' is aimed at offering bursaries/scholarships to two women pursuing tertiary level education in physical education and sport at the G. C. Foster College in St. Catherine.

JWISS is a two-month-old organisation which is committed to promoting and increasing opportunities and roles for women at all levels.
