GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):
Opposition Leader Robert Corbin has agreed to meet President Bharrat Jagdeo on Friday to resume consultations on the appointment of the Chancellor of the Judiciary and Chief Justice.
The talks on Friday come one month since the two leaders held preliminary talks on the issue and two years after the original consultations had lapsed.
However, Corbin, in a letter to Jagdeo agreeing to the meeting, strongly condemned the inference made by the head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon, of Corbin's "unavailability" to meet the President to resume consultations.
